Nisswa has events for the whole family to enjoy. For over 40 years, during the summer we have weekly turtle races every Wednesday. Besides the turtle races, we offer many other events: Nisswa Winter Jubilee, Nisswa Stamman Festival, Nisswa Golf Open, Nisswa Garden Show, Nisswa Freedom Days, Majestic Pines Art Festival, Nisswa Crazy Days, Nisswa Fall Festival and BBQ, Christmas Tour of Homes and the very popular Nisswa City of Lights and Fireworks. Visit the Nisswa Historical Society's Pioneer Village. You can take a step back in time and take a glimpse of life in the late 1800's to early 1900's. See the school, bank, homesteads, livery museum and more not to mention the train depot and freight room! Ever thought of getting married in Nisswa? We have many lakes to choose from – Gull Lake chain, Cullen Lakes, Round Lake, Whitefish chain and so many more – the fishing is great! Try fishing for northern pike, walleye, bass, perch and more. And don't forget to ice fish during the winter! And for those that just want to play – you can water ski, swim or take a relaxing boat ride around the lake in a pontoon or in a wooden boat! |

Trail!
The Paul Bunyan/Heartland Trail is 100+ mile long multiple use trail. The trail is used for hiking, bicycling, in-line skating, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Enjoy the wonderful views along the trail! There are several designated trails for 4 wheelers such as Spider Lake, Moose River, Fort Ripley and several more. |
